Hand painted skateboard - one of a kind and never to be repeated.
This was done by plating a board with silver metal leaf and then painting over the top with a mixture of normal (opaque) paint and coloured varnishes (called 'flamboyants'). The effect is dazzling and this board was always the one which got the most 'wows' at exhibitions.
I say 'never to be repeated' because painting all those Japanese style scales was long and I won't be doing that again.
Drying times included, the whole board represents several week's worth of work. That's why it's so expensive.
